Lee - you caught my point exactly. I think what edamo and I have been saying is that no one will argue that DELL has easily the best business model in the PC space. But as DELL becomes increasingly visible as the leader, the other players will move the goal posts to take advantage of their particular strengths and minimize DELL's strengths. That probably does not mean that they try to beat DELL at DELL's game, so all the talk about how DELL would win in a PCs-only price war or will inevitably get the #1 commercial desktop position is "true but trivial" - that is not what is currently shaping the perception of DELL's future.
