Barnes & Noble sees Q2 gains, charge
NEW YORK, June 4 (Reuters) - Barnes & Noble Inc. said Friday it expected $35 million in second quarter gains for taking barnesandnoble.com public and and selling Chapters Inc. shares and a $5 million charge for its canceled Ingram Book Group purchase.

Barnes & Noble, the United States' largest bookseller, said the initial public offering of online book retailer Barnesandnoble.com (Nasdaq:BNBN - news) would produce an after-tax gain of $0.20 per share. The sale of one million of its 1.8 million shares in Chapters Inc. (Toronto:CHP.TO - news), Canada's largest bookseller, will result in a gain of $0.08 per share, the company said.
