Digital Courier Technologies, Inc. Announces Exclusive Distribution Agreement with ACI Worldwide
MIAMI, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Courier Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: DCTI - news) is announcing at the Visa International Conference today that it has signed an international distribution agreement with ACI Worldwide. ACI Worldwide is the distribution and support division of Transaction Systems Architects, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSAI - news) based in Omaha, Nebraska. ACI will market Digital Courier's netClearing product through its global sales force in a revenue sharing alliance. The partnership gives netClearing immediate access to international sales and marketing coverage from a well established industry leader and offers ACI the opportunity to market a sophisticated e-commerce payment processing system to its already well established client base.

''The agreement with ACI is very important to us because it enables our ecommerce products to be distributed internationally by a very capable and knowledgeable sales force with a proven track record and vast experience in the payment processing industry,'' said James Egide, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Courier. ''With Forrester Research estimating that ecommerce will reach $327 billion by the year 2002, there's an enormous market for e-commerce payment processing'' stated Mr. Egide. ''We intend to emerge a leader of that market,'' he added.

''We are extremely excited about this new agreement with Digital Courier, an emerging force in the e-commerce payments industry. The business-to-consumer e-commerce market is exploding, and we're committed to providing our customers with the best in web-centric technologies, to allow them to enter this market in a cost-effective, high-quality fashion'' said Jeffrey S. Hale, Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development for Transaction Systems Architects, Inc. ''Clearly, there is significant momentum in the market around e-commerce. This new solution, which we will integrate with our broad range of payments products, including value-added products in areas like payments settlement, fraud management and back-office processing support, will enable our customers to enter the e-commerce space with the most feature-rich solutions available in the market. As our customers move to the web, they want their new solutions integrated with their current payments infrastructure, to avoid the pitfalls associated with multiple payments platforms, back-office inefficiencies and exposure to fraud.''

The agreement with ACI is being announced at the Visa International Ecommerce Conference in Miami, Florida. Don Marshall, President of DataBank International SKB (which has signed an agreement to be acquired by Digital Courier), will be displaying Digital Courier's sophisticated netClearing software and services to the banking industry today. Included in his remarks will be a demonstration of Digital Courier's Internet fraud risk management software, a product that continues to set new standards in the ecommerce industry. ''The Visa International Conference is a very important milestone for netClearing, as it is the first open forum for us to showcase our vertically integrated end-to-end product and introduce the netClearing products to a targeted financial services industry audience. We anticipate a strong response from the financial community,'' stated Mr. Marshall.

Digital Courier supplies financial institutions, businesses and major web portals with sophisticated e-commerce, payment processing and content delivery software. Its netClearing division and its Access Services subsidiary offer sophisticated and secure credit card and payment processing services and technology on the Internet. The service will provide a tightly integrated Internet payment gateway to the credit card networks through a single service provider.

ACI Worldwide helps the world move money with software products developed for consumer banking, corporate banking, retail solutions and systems solutions. As the distribution and support division of Transaction Systems Architects, Inc., ACI Worldwide maintains operations in the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia/Pacific and is a leading international provider of software for electronic commerce and electronic payments.
