"Does that sound so bad?"

What we eat is neither good nor bad in the moral sense (good or bad for you is another question). Which is the whole point as far as I'm concerned.

If you choose to eat no meat on a given day, that is your choice. Recently I went for several days and did not eat meat -- I did not realize I had done that until I checked for what I need to buy at the store and thought about what my meals had consisted of recently. It happens.

We are physically constructed to process both meat and veggies. That's why I think strict vegetarianism on philosophical or moral grounds is rather silly (I don't mean to insult anyone by using the word "silly" I'm just trying to be honest as to how I feel about this subject).
