Roman bridge and Roman fortress in Heidelberg Neuenheim. 1196 Heidelberch officially mentioned for the first time. 1225 Offical mention of a fortress in Heidelberg. 1303 Official documents mention the existance of two castles in Heidelberg; and upper fortress on Gaisberg (todays Molkenkur) and the other on Jettenbuhl site of the present ruins. In America they would have torn the castle down and built Condominiums. JW@KSC
