Greg, what AMD has done makes perfect sense from a marketing standpoint. For example, I will guarantee you that you would have better market acceptance selling printers called LaserJet than just some unknown label. Think of the advertising dollars, established market reputation, et cetera. Now, that may be highly illegal, if not down right sinful, but AMD's desperate situation calls for desperate action. Let's not forget that this is technology given to AMD under agreement from Intel and all of this should be spelled out, in fine detail. AMD could not develop its own extensions and had to ride on Intel's research once again.
