Gary,

Ascend received the CSCO shares as a result of their ownership of a big chunk of FIBEX. They did not buy Cisco shares on the open market and hold them as an investment. In fact, they are divesting them as quickly as is prudent. If you had actually read the posts on this thread, this would be apparent.

Now, what is it that you are laughing about? Maybe it is the Lucent phone on your own desk.
