I sense that emc is within a few weeks of takeoff. No bad news now for a few weeks. Steady announcements of new contracts, good news, etc. All systems seem ready for liftoff. The one fly in the ointment is that I didn't see any bottom yet in the market. No grand obvious turnaround day. So I suspect we have not yet bottomed out. We probably have still one last painful gutwrenching slide to endure. Hopefully it will not hit emc too hard, but that's probably wishful thinking. I think starting in the second half of june emc should start to fly. If ever there was a time for a blow out quarter this is it. Of course, it's harder to beat the estimates after a split but let's see what emc can do. I have a feeling that they are pissed by the way they were treated by hwp and that y2k nutty analyst and want to prove they are the new leader not an impostor. Just a gut feeling at this point. Still if we can close above 51 that would be a great sign. Here's hoping we don't ever see a close below 50 again.

PS The new S&P Outlook still loves emc. Says the pullback represents a buying opportunity. I'm sure emc would have told the analyst community one way or another if the second quarter was in trouble.
