Earlie, I'm sure I will not find the definitive words to express all the different reactions I have had to these threads. I just point them out and say they have been a major phenomenon on SI over the last week. The top Kidney one was atop the hot list several times. They have been major topics on The Welcome to Silicon Investor thread also.

People have hashed out whether the poster was serious or not. Various conclusions have been made and overall opinions have evolved. I think the whole thing is terrible. Whether a sick joke, or a person in need of serious counseling, I have no real firm answer.

Also I found amazing that much of the range of SI behaviors was covered in such a small, controversial space. We had people showing up talking off topic since the thread was hot. We had mimic threads. People mocking the poster. People rushing in with compassion. People from all camps flaming the other camps. People with research and facts. People grubbing posts. SI admin trying to figure out how SI should respond to such a distasteful display in its midst. Was it a violation of terms? Was it serious? etc.

It was an interesting drama. I turned away and couldn't read it several times, but finally have gone through most of it. It was not a "G" rated thread.
