>>The test is a compelling story which exemplifies the ways in which I believe their technology will significantly impact the way in which businesses serve their customer base<<

Anyone who has studied the evolution of business in North America, understands that we have evolved through a series of the business / service evolutionary trends. These trends have had their leaders who have provided a strong and compelling case for their beliefs. These trends have dramatically changed our business world and their customers expectations.

I may miss a few, but here goes . . .

Mass production - Adam Smith & Henry Ford
Total Quality - Demming & Juran
Quality Service - Tom Peters & Peter Drucker
Business Process Re-engineering - Micheal Hammer & James Champy
and now Loyalty Management - Don Peppers & Martha Rogers

Loyalty Management focuses on the collection, analysis, and understanding of information about your customers. It is built on a foundation that the other trends have laid down. From this analysis of data, a business can ensure that they provide the best "targeted" service experience to their most valued customers.

I am absolutely convinced that what Net Shepherd is setting out to do for shopping malls is exactly what these malls need to do to thrive in the coming years. They need to quickly develop an intimate understanding of their customers. Then they need to foster an environment where their customers are willing to share information about themselves.

A business's ability to strategically collect data so that they can completely understand, meet, and then exceed the desires of their customer base will greatly determine whether that business thrives, or withers away. I know a few businesses that desperately need Net Shepherd's help, and I am sure that you do too.

If Net Shepherd really has their act together (and I suspect that they do), they will have set up a process where they collect, and then mine, the data they process from these projects. As this data source builds they will soon have a staggering amount of value added information that can be leveraged in countless ways.

Businesses need what they offer - and this is another reason why I like their long term prospects.
