Rick / This and That
Hate to take up the space here for misc comment, but I feel compelled to brag a little about my area. If it weren't for my neighbor and some government people, I would believe I have the best of the better living conditions
I would take you up on that offer for the Canadian pigs, if it weren't for the family living on the other side of the mountain. They're a thievin type group. Just the other day they were after some of my home-brewed spirits I had stored in my still out in the shed. I gave them some buckshot in the you know where area. But not before they got at my library in the outhouse. Those suckers stoled my catalogs out the most modern structure my great grandfather John built about 85 years ago. That was our family's highest achievement thus far and really recognized by folk down in the valley. To this day they refer to him when they have to go, well - you know what and where.
But my two room cabin is still my palace. Me, the wife and six kids live in one room and the horse in the other. Got to protect my turf from those rascals on the other side of the mountain. But still, those people aren't my real threat. It's those government people. They are always up here telling me I must have this and can't have that. As example, they're after the whiskey still and said I can't provide the stuff anymore. In all honesty, I think they after it to patient it, they are a sneaky group. Then they tell me that I can't use my outhouse because I'm creating environmental problems. Next thing you know, they'll be instructing me how to go or, when to go. When they got to go - I tell them where to go.
And they really got their nerve. The other day they told me it was their land. Who are they kidding, we've been here 200 years. I appeased them by saying it was definitely Yer mans land, and they backed off a little. Now they're telling me that I must license this and license that which means I have to pay this and pay that. I told them that I wouldn't pay anything over 20 jugs of my aged spirits. They didn't like that. I tried to explain we were traders, not cash sellers.
Which brings me back to the subject of the stock market. Last time I looked, all the ELH participants were up today. Sent off a message to Bob Christie today and he said they were going to have a follow-up story on the BLM lease sale, I assume to be a little more specific about some of the companies awarded parcels.
Gotta go. Need to feed the pigeons and prepare them for the 175 mile trip to Toronto for delivering my column, which normally appears about 1 a.m. my time. canoe.ca
These pigeons know when they see a good place also. They always come home. |
