Ail - AMD's Mobile K6-III and Compaq's new Ultraportable Notebook PC
Looks like these two won't be seen together - any idea why Compaq chose the Pentium II & Celeron instead ?
Wouldn't be power consumption/battery life, would it?

Compaq Goes Ultraportable
New Armada to Ship in July

Compaq Computer Corp. is expected to ship a new ultraportable notebook PC by mid-July.
The new Armada weighs less than 3 pounds and is less than 1-inch thick. It features a choice of Intel Corp.'s 333 MHz Pentium II or Celeron processor, an 11.3-inch TFT display, 64 Mbytes of SDRAM, up to a 6.4-Gbyte hard drive, a magnesium alloy case and a choice of Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0.
Other features include a 95 percent full-size keyboard, an external floppy disk drive and an optional Mobile Expansion Unit (MEU) that attaches to the bottom of the unit to house the disk drive as well as options such as a CD-ROM or DVD drive, a SuperDisk LS-120 drive, a second battery or a second hard drive.
The MEU is a step toward Compaq's plan to release a family of common docking products late in the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter, said Eric Brennan, acting director of new product marketing for Compaq, Houston, Tex.
"For IT managers [common docking] simplifies purchases. They only have to spare one part," said Brennan.
Pricing on the ultraportable Armada, which is targeted at high-level executives, is expected to start below $2,000.
