Excite@Home should go after AOL where they live. In content.

Start taking on AOL head to head in content and judges in Oregon who make decisions regarding the Nation's rollout of broadband won't matter. Consumers will make the choice, and right now the difference is not apparent to Joe Averagenetuser.

Broadband is where the future lies. Promoting Excite's advantages in broadband is the best way to divert AOL's tactics in the courts. Just because my neighbor gets a new Porsche doesn't mean I get to drive it. ATHM is paying for the pipes. AOL and ATHM compete in content. Why should ATHM have to open their pipes to their main competition in content?

If T and ATHM have to open their pipes then I think AOL should open their address book. Meaning, a lot of people do not want to leave AOL because they don't want to change their email address. Allow ATHM a deal where they can forward AOL email to a new ATHM broadband account and see the AOLer's leave in droves.

If AOL wants to piss in our pond, let's crap on their doorstep.

Regards,
Stuart
