I had the sanme problem with DLJ's ability to recognize new IPOs as they began trading or changed their symbol or name. Recent cases were CHKPF changing to CHKP and a new IPO, AUCD. The "quotes" screen gave accurate info with respect to AUDC, but the "trades" screen couldn't find either symbol. DLJ advised that in such instances orders should be placed via phone. Totally unsatisfactory. Otherwise DLJ has been pretty good - I am not a day-trader, though. I have no experience with other online brokers. Good luck.
