Two weeks of mostly good (connection) results with the x2 and I have a few observations to report.

ISP line loading is increasingly obvious. While most files will pull down faster, the amount of time spent waiting for "your turn on the T-1" can become frustrating as you see one graphic element appear in a flash and then have to wait for the next to start loading.

What was seen long ago with my 28.8K at home vs. 14.4K at the office still stands - there are certain sites &/or certain times of the day that the old 14.4K does about as well as the other.

The increased line noise sensitivity is definitely going to be a problem both for the users and for the RBOCs. Due to their obligations of "must attend every service complaint" their workload is going to increase as these new modems filter out into the online community. Who will end up paying for all these overtime hours? Guess.

Somehow, somewhere the RBOCs are going to make an effective plea to either up everyone's rates or to somehow tax the data connection users.

Some more effective means needs to be developed to dynamically adjust the speed on the new modems or just drop them back to conventional 28.8K should certain line conditions develop.
