This is how I see it - Broadband deployments (cable, XDSL) are being spearheaded by cable companies.

Good points. Regarding the above maybe I should have phrased it better. What I meant was that by deploying HFC BB the cable companies are forcing the phone companies along the BB path with their XDSL offerings.
