<<It is probably too late for BRCD to figure out what has happened and copy this creative finance. >>

Do not underestimate BRCD mgmt's creativity. Their past Marketing/Sales efforts have been absolutely brilliant , particularly when Brenda C was their VP Marketing. They have proven to be very effective in creating Industry perceptions that have been difficult for Ancor to overcome in both the Media and with OEMs...things are changing however, as the technology/architecture/future roadmap/performance and price really do matter with some OEMs. OEM wins like HDS/Sun will beget more OEM wins for Ancor.

What I do not admire about Brocade is their historical pattern of questionable business ethics and scorched earth tactics of bad-mouthing their competitors and spreading falsehoods...not to mention the rumor that prior to their S-1 filing, they were telling prospective OEM customers that their revenues were $75 million+ ( reality was $24 million in 1998)...remember how "Bullstroke( a_rapport) was bragging how BRCD was already doing $100 million ?

PS - what makes you think that BRCD customers/prospective customers did not have the "opportunity" to participate in the IPO via "Friends of the Company" program? Sounds "creative" to me..
