Alec, this really belongs on the AMD thread, and I no longer own any x86 CPU makers because I expect a price war later this year, but I feel very confident on my prediction that Intel will not have ANY cpu that "runs much faster than the K-6" at least until early 1998. Tillamook (sp??) and P55C will be/are much slower. Klamath and PPro will be marginally slower, and Deshutes will be marginally faster. You may however be correct that Intel may be able to bully the big OEMs into staying Intel only, much as they did last year against Cyrix, especially the ones without R&D such as Dell and Gateway. I can't figure out what you are talking about in number 3, though. The major manufacturers evaluated the K6 months ago, and there are dozen's of makers of K6 motherboards, but only a few Klamath boards.

Now, what does this have to do with CSCC?
