Andreas -- a most engaging response. please do not take my forward comments as an act of pretention, but one of brevity.

DSL will explode, CLECs will push it and have an advantage to win the biz somewhat. Suppliers will have to be cost effective through commoditzation of the product. Here is why I like PAIR over WSTL.
PAIR has seventh level silicon integrated into their product architecture. WSTL has 0 into 0 ( since they do neither any longer).
WSTL is a niche house now, PAIR has the whole CLEC world in front of them. If CLECs cannot make a go of the competition with RBOCs then why has COVD and NPNT garnered so much support on the street? PAIR also has a great product platform with huge future growth, so it is sure to win a major house (SPRINT,MCI) somewhere.
PAIR is on rebound for other reasons, but check out this chart... the first significant buy signal on the monthly chart came in Oct last year, 5 years after the IPO. Some good things take a lot of time. So i don't think of dumping PAIR ( even tho it can take another qtr of poor data to convince the street, except it is up about 100% this yr.), I add big time. WSTL is a trade.

Your comments on LGND don't convince me of the trade for them. You say they earn a couple bucks, but how? What is the product growth and margin that leads to this?

On your other biotech MOGN, this chart would tell me to wait to buy a few bucks less. If you have reason to believe otherwise, okay. But the weekly has retreated from these levels every time.

On German tax laws, I have alwys gone with the idea that a dollar earned can be taxed ( even in 10 minutes of trade). If your rates are 70% (ouch), but ours run 30-35%. One can Buy and hold a WSTL for tax savings and look at last year's $13 and todays' $8. Or you can trade it (4 to 6, 6 to 8....).
