Yes, you make some good points. I agree there is some reason for concern there, since it is not known what brand loyalty will look like, "on the net"!
The thing that is always reassuring is, human nature rarely changes, and when it does so, it changes slowly. I know myself, as a frequent Amazon customer, I'm developing quite an affinity for them because they take such good care of me. This means repeat business. These behavior patterns are not easily broken, once established. Which is the whole consumer-behavior, branding phenomena. I think Amazon is building one heck of a brand name.
It's important to remember, they are not LOSING money. They are INVESTING it, in building a business. The Amazon bears just don't "get" the whole business development cycle, which this company is in the midst of.
At this point, I am not long AMZN, though. It's been acting pretty weak this week, after the cheap shots and alley-beating from Bear-uns. |
