Excellent post. All: Read every word of what John dug up for us on Road Runner. It clues us in on the partners and the dance.

After reading it, the pieces fit all the better on why T bought UMG. . . to get a chunk of Road Runner, while giving ATHM a bigger market. With T involved in the Road Runner partnership, it gives it a better chance of competing with ATHM.

T doesn't care, the competition is GOOD. . .nobody wants to be accused of a monopoly. So by owning the key parts. . .T "indirectly" benefits from the absolute monopoly that it doesn't "appear" to have.

Now when I rant and rave about Next Generation Internet and digital fibre optics broadband delivery. . . you better see that the whole thing is right around the corner. . .not some pie-in-the-sky idea off in left field somewhere. Today's internet is ALREADY obsolete.

So when we go to select the winners for the 99-00 internet mania race, remember to choose those with one-foot clearly in the Next Generation Internet. . . .and we will jump on any companies with both feet there.
