I agree, Sam, but remember 2 key things about the MusicCard program:
(1) Especially in Fund-Raisers where kids are doing the selling for a "Good Cause", parents, uncles, aunts, church members, etc, rarely say "No". And how about local corporate sponsors or businesses who may buy blocks of 10 or 100?
They are a soft touch and their primary reason for buying is often NOT because the card is a good deal. It is the cause.
..... "What are you raising money for Mary?"
..... "Band uniforms"...."Kids with Cancer"....etc....Will you buy a MyMusicCard from me, Mrs. Johnson?
..... "Why sure, Mary, it sounds like a good cause"
This is what really excites me. It's not only high margin for TSIG but great money for good causes and we all win.
Remember we are only figuring that the average kid sells 2-4 cards. In actuality the schools have contests to see who can sell the most.
That said, you are right Sam, they should have lower priced $5 cards and maybe even a price break if one customer buys 10 or 100. Maybe a special certificate or public accolade for "Distinguished Sponsor"
(2) TSIG will be driving millions of people to their website which can and will, I think, be greatly expanded to sell lots of other merchandise with time. The number of "hits" TSIG can show will make it easy for them to set up alliances with others
For instance what if the MyMusicCard allowed you to buy books from Amazon? or discounted airfare?
BUT THE BIG THING IS: Who can say no to a kid and a good cause? and will the average kid be able to sell at least 2-4 cards? |
