I agree with Harmon's views on this. There will eventually be no difference between the delivery of digital data to the consumer (be it internet, phone or TV) than there is any other utility like say gas, water, or electricity. For these established utilities, the supply, distribution and local delivery are generally owned and provided by different and competing companies, all of whom make a profit on their piece of the business.

While AT&T may have had its goal set on locking up all three segments of this lucrative business, they will eventually realize they can make a bundle on just parts of it.
