Johannes, as the only contributor to this thread who has ever apologized publicly (to my knowledge, that is), you certainly deserve an answer. :-)
You may indeed be right that Dan Schuh "started" his quarrels with JLA and Bill Vaughn, and that he was every bit as waspy as his opponents. But as long as we are on the subject of mothers, you will remember that they generally don't pay much attention to the "He started it!" argument. They are more likely to send ALL the quarrelers off to their separate rooms (if they have them), in the interests of peace & quiet.
If you will look back at my original post, you will see that I did not come back on thread specifically to defend Dan Schuh. In fact, I hadn't even known of his suspension. It was to explain the origin of a post I had once written, one that pezz found funny & you didn't. :-) (No accounting for tastes, she says, scratching her head.)
When I took a look at the latest postings, I saw that the old insult-exchange habit was still in full flower, and not just in communications involving Daniel. I still believe that if more thread regulars (including, but not limited to Dan)had followed your example, and apologized for uncalled-for insults directed at others, the atmosphere here would be quite different (and the Schuh situation might possibly have been avoided entirely).
