Mike,

Elder's "Trading for a Living" is good, as is "Trading Rules:Strategies for Success" by William F. Eng. Most traders glean valuable insights from these books but over the course of time find themselves violating every rule or principle they tell one not to violate. After some trading experience, you should read these books again and what they say will have much deeper meaning.

"The Elements of Successful Trading" by Robert P. Rotella is worth perusal also.

It takes time to find and develop a trading/investing style that one is comfortable with, much of which depends on one's temperament, level of risk tolerance, time frame and capitalization.
