Robert, the email address thing goes a lot beyond the obvious ease of mailing. It has to do with an individual's identity, sometimes legal, as it may have been engrained in stationary, rights and permissions, authentication tables in numerous accounts on the 'net, in enterprise dial-in servers, etc. When you think about it, the implications are more significant for some than for others, but it is a major consideration, and will become more so, going forward.
