Rumors about the Big Announcement.
I have been disturbed by the persistent appearance of optimistic predictions concerning a "Big Announcement". It is my opinion that the origins of these rumors, in statements made by Mr. Gardy in his fireside chats, were references to the developments that occurred in April in PRs and at the NAB. In other words, although there may be a big announcement, or even many big announcements made on June 28, they are not in any way related to anything that was supposed to have occurred in April. I questioned Mr. Gardy on this matter. He is now, however, in a position which makes it impossible for him to clearly address my question in that any answer he gives will lead to information which he should not, as an insider, be revealing. My concern is that there will be no special big announcement made on June 28, and that the resulting disappointment will result in irrational pessimism and (somewhat of a concern ) a lower stock price, not the higher one that might result from a good, informative session that had no big announcement. Here is the dialogue I had with Mr. Gardy.

It is exactly in the interest of not exacerbating "irrational expectations" one way or the other, that I think I'll just stand by what I posted earlier to you and suggest you tune in and ask Ed yourself. Thanks for your continued posts on our board, Dave.

My concern is irrational expectations leading to exagerated negative reactions. The expectations for a "huge" announcement originate in your entheusiasm in past fireside chats. My perception is that the comments you made at that point concerning what we could expect in the near future were realized in the events that occurred in April and that was that. It seems to me that it would not be a breach of your responsibilities to say that what you told us to expect was coming has already come...that any further expectations originating from your earlier comments are the work of the imaginations of the ... um ...expectorators.
