The only points my friend<g> is making which I agree with are:

1. All sides lost in this war, especially the Kosovars (the ones supposedly Nato wanted to save).Dito on EC (gutless in its own backyard) and Greece(potential loss of trust) and Serbia (destruction by the bombing) and great harm in relations of the US with Chinese and Russians (in other words, world stability).

2. Russia is a big winner (along with many countries whose bills were honored to buy their cooperation)

BUT the facts remain that:

1. The current peace agreement solidifies that the current borders will NOT be altered and there is no "referendum" (code word for independence) for the Albanians. This was the main geopolitical goal of the Serbs and it was achieved.

2. Number two is that the ethnic makeup of Kosovo has been PERMANENTLY
altered...Whether we like it or not, there will be a great number LESS Albanians living in Kosovo than before.

3. Sure there is no deadline for disarming the KLA now. But, in Rauimbullet the disarming of the KLA would have happened after they have achieved their independence goal. Now it is written down on paper that KLA will be disbanded. It may take some time but KLA terrorists are seeing the writing on the wall clearly now, their days are numbered.

4. The Germans already talked about EU helping the reconstruction...I expect Milosevic to "lose" the next elections & pull the strings in the background (personally I would like to see him resign but that may be too much to ask of him) to allow even more money to flow into the region. So before the bombing their economy was a mess, with the bombing it became a tragic mess, and with their "loss" reconstruction funded by the citizens of the bombing nations (basically our tax dollars)can begin ( I assume most people will rather have their tax dollars to go to build something than go to build bombs)

So anyone who thinks that the Serbs did not win these FOUR MAJOR points is hallucinating (as are some "analysts" here who now start admiring Clinton as the great warrior who "won" the first war by air power alone with no casualties)or are just way too blind from their hatred toward a whole people (which is probably evident after asking repeatedly for carpet bombing them).
