Let's tell some "good lawyer" stories.
I remember sitting quietly as a kid in my grandfather's law office in a small Southern town while be cajoled and bullied a big family into settling an estate instead of suing each other (which he said would result in Col. Thurmond (Strom's daddy) and him getting all of the pitiful little farm in fees. He worked an afternoon and billed them $5 for settling the estate without a suit.
A lawyer whom I have worked with settled a wrongful discharge with a phonecall to the New York corporate boss, got the worker his job back with backpay, and billed the client $80 for the 20 minutes it took him to settle.
