Wayne, I just read that Charismatic's multiple bone fracture has retired him. I just hope they don't have to destroy him.

My shotgun system, which I play often with fairly good results, would have won 2 of the three triple crown races. That is rare at that level.

Menifee was the dud of the day, IMHO. Charismatic finished third with a broken leg, so his heart is outstanding. I have finally given up on Adonis. I would have loved to have seen Badge in this race. I don't know what he would have done, but it would have been another factor.

Vision and Verse surprised me a lot. I almost left it out of my shotgun bet, but finally decided to go with the straight concept and not try to sort it out. Man, I would have croaked if he had finished first and was the only long shot I hadn't bet. <g>

I have no idea who goes to the top of the pack with Charismatic out.

Totally agree on Baffert. His magic didn't work this year. Every decision seemed kind of dumb. I still don't know why neither General Challenge nor Prime Timber were entered in The Belmont. I think Prime, at least, has the distance.

Best,
