Eric ... I keep hearing/reading the phrase "the tape never lies" and am not really sure what is meant.

I guess the ticker tape of old (and Time&Sales on daytrading software today) shows Time, Trade Volume, and Price. What are the subtleties one is looking for while reading the tape? How does one master the science or art of "reading the tape"?

If anyone else has some thoughts on this, please chime in.
