Re: "dell is growing over 40% and cpq's fallout will be to dells advantage. "

IMO this is one of the most important realizations in valuating Dell at this point. It seems to me that a lot of the downgrades and resulting "stay away from Dell" recommendations are due to the premise that the Y2K buying from companies has slowed or stopped and Dell's forward looking earnings will be hurt. If all that is true and Dell can capture or fill that gap by gaining CPQ's fallout it would make all those "experts" WRONG! I hope.

A real pet peeve of mine is how these "experts" make a blanket statement without taking any other factors into consideration. Then it becomes some sort of unwritten law and everyone must sell because of course it's true! It's fact! it's knowledge! It's the unwritten law of investing! The only thing worst to me is that they actually get time value out of these musings till the real facts prove them wrong of course they have a good chunk of the fair minded investor's money by then. Excuse me for venting here!
