I bet lots of people got pushed out because of stop losses and such (something which I don't recommend). Looks like the market was pushed down, perhaps by shorters getting in, and it triggered automatic sells. You should really look at todays stock graph, looks like some sort of exponential drop. The drop got caught by end of day. There's probably really high short interest in this.
