Eeek, yuppie is an insult! It has evolved into one. Don't be surprised if someone takes it that way! It has connotations of superficiality and insensitivity toward the less fortunate and inordinate interest in material possessions and selfish pleasures and... well, you get the idea. A person could take deep offense. I have a few yuppie friends. I would never use the Y word to them though. It would hurt their feelings. Though they might jokingly use it about themselves.

And while i'm here, i'll let drop that i felt a physical shock when you said to Lather you hated him for the energy you put into your post to him.

And he told you it hurt him-- that it made his heart heavier-- (and you know it had to be heavy enough after today,) and you failed even to acknowledge his pain. Though your hatred originated from his having inadequately apologized, you felt, for causing unintended pain.

Lather didn't earn your hatred. I don't think Blue hates him. And those words showing up on a screen are shocking, they really are! I think people often don't appreciate how shocking words can look on these screens. I've been terribly hurt by much less extreme words than "I hate you for..."

I'm not your enemy, really, don't be too angry.
