The point is we don't know what the yields are and they very well be having trouble at 200 Mhz. In other words, they are over-clocking to meet that critical value and hoarding those processors able to make the grade. It doesn't make sense that they would not demonstrate a rate equal to Intel's next Pentium chip, if they had the capability.

AMD and their orchestrated response teams, formal and informal, are placing a major emphasis on 16 bit integer performance while floating point intensive applications for enterprise servers and multimedia type applications continue to grow in leaps and bounds. The Pentium and Pentium Pro both have excellent floating point performance but they will take a backseat to Pentium II which outshines them both.
