What is our alternatives here if we want to get quick and big return?
All internuts investors are hoping to get quick and big return. (from a day to couple days, from weeks to few months, or from 1 to 2 years)
Yes, we could invest in more conventional but stable tech stock like MSFT and CSCO but the return won't be so fast as the nuts stocks, the thrill is not with them anymore.
You must ask yourself, how many stock you have owned so far that you are so closed to their industry (the internet)? How many stocks you owned that you know so much about the business? (the e-business, the chat, the mail, the modem, the dsl, the cable, the wireless,...)
Can you name any other type of stock that is so exciting?
then you must ask yourself
Which stock has the best chance to succeed among this exciting industry?
If your answer is like mine, then we shouldn't worry about next week AOL price because 'the future' is more than next week.
AOL's market cap is 127 b, 127x2, 127x3, 127x4 or 127x5 is not impossible because AOL is the leader in internet business, there is no ceiling above the leader, once AOL includes satellite service even the sky is not the limit!
Think AOL price stage wise:
(1) AOL into wireless (boost 1) (2) AOL into TV (boost 2) (3) AOL into cable (boost 3) (4) AOL into DSL (boost 4) (5) AOL sign up big partnerships as with GE, GM, AMEX, MSFT(?), ...(boost 5, 6, 7,...) (6) AOL expands into other parts of the world (boost n, n+1, n+2,...) (7) AOL exceeds earning expectation (boost ...) (8) market tank from time to time, AOL's value stands out more each time from other nuts stock, establish its blue chip true status.
AOL will be the first trillion dollar company.
People worry about the p/e, the valuation of AOL, but the owner of AOL stock or any nuts stock bought in because of the 'thrill feeling' because of the 'big possibility' because of the 'grow together with the future' because of 'something they really understand' (well, I guess Warren Buffet does not use much internet, otherwise, he'll invest in AOL as well), but most important, the future is priceless!
I don't believe a bit about us, the investors cannot see the high p/e, the high valuation before we bought AOL, I don't believe we are so stupid, I believe we are all gutsi guys/gals, we are all star wars generation, we believe possibility, we believe that you can make big money in the stock market!
This Oregon's judgement should ease the concern of 'AOL not in cable' in big time, I believe next few weeks will be as good as Voltaire's prediction on 6/1/99, AOL is news driven, AOL is momentum driven, AOL is earning driven, AOL is upgrade driven, AOL is tech driven, AOL is driven by DOW (sometimes), so without hiking in interest, good inflation rate, unemployment rate, even you and I can tell which direction AOL will head next weeks.
My 3 cents.
Ok, if you read all my whining up to this line, you derseve a break, read this:
A little old lady goes to the doctor and says "Doctor, I have this problem with gas, but it really doesn't bother me too much. They never smell and are always silent. As a matter of fact, I've farted at least 20 times since I've been here in your office. You didn't know I was farting because they don't smell and are silent." The doctor says, "I see. Take these pills and come back to see me next week." Next week comes and the old lady goes back. "Doctor," she says, "I don't know what the hell you gave me, but now my farts...although still silent...stink terribly." The doctor says, "Good!!! Now that we've cleared up your sinuses, let's work on your hearing." |
