Don...I'm about a third into Lefevre's book.

His repeated references to Livermore's adeptness at reading the tape is some of what prompted my query. As I get deeper into the book, I see that he actually does describe some of the technique -- looking for lines of least price resistance, knowing support and resistance levels...And hopefully more tips to come as I continue reading.

I'm going to look for Zieg's book also. You say it may be hard to find. Is it out of print? I'll start by checking the local and university library.
