Mike,

I really like the statement about one's willingness to give away a storage product to a friend and not worry about it. That would mean that the company has reached the full potential of the mass market. By charging $10.00 for a fat floppy disc Iomega cut the Zip disc's life short.

We are entering a new stage here where personal computing becomes more personal and more portable. I don't believe that the cost of CF will ever allow one to consider giving it away. It would remain a personal possession. I still believe there is promise in mass consumption even without the "trading card" aspect to it.

Maybe they should just put Pokemon characters on the CF card to encourage people to collect the entire set?

I see that there is weakness in my value chain discussion. My next chapter will talk about switching cost, so give me a chance before closing the book on SNDK.
