Michael & All. Uromed is certainly a pioneer in this field but they are not the only pioneer! I read thru all the posts here and nobody has mentioned a future competitor, Rochester Medical (ROCM). Rochester Medical has designed and is in clinical trials with a device that has similar utility and function but with much much better useability. ROCM's device does not require a pump because it inflates the bubble with a liquid rather than air. IMHO, using liquid inflation rather than air creates a barrier with greater integrity and comfort since it behaves (creates resistance) like human tissue.

Some of you guys have mentioned in previous posts that the ultimate success of this type of product has to do with the incidence of infection, blood in the urine, and just as important the acceptance by women. I totally agree with these comments. However, I would speculate to say that ROCM's product may find greater acceptance with women since it does not require the use of a pump and the device can be removed after voiding and reinserted. In addition, ROCM's product is non-latex which is important since latex allergies are fast becoming the next "medical crisis" reported by news tabloid shows. (And so the risk is Wall Street will irrationally sell off all latex based product companies??)

I do not believe the incidence of infection will be much different between URMD's device and ROCM's device and so I am keenly interested in following URMD as a precursor to investing in ROCM. If the URMD device does not sell well, I will be watching for the reasons why in order to determine early on if ROCM is likely to face the same problems with its product.

URMD is a major cash burning machine and for this reason I will not invest in it but I do wish you investors the best of luck. ...And I won't invest in ROCM until I can gather market acceptance info from watching URMD. That makes me a very curious spectator for the moment.
