Hi everyone,
Just got back from Vegas this morning! First of all, I like to give you an overall picture of the meeting follow by a brief description of what was discussed at the meeting.
A last minute change of plan moved the shareholders meeting from Alexis Park to a sport facility building on the outer skirt of Las Vegas. Tom rented 3 limousines to chauffeured all the management team and registered shareholders to the meeting at 8:00Am. Light breakfast was provided and a short mingle and introduction among the shareholders, and the meeting begin at exactly 9:00Am.
There were approximately 35 shareholders attending the meeting beside eConnect Inc. 's management and staff team of six. I was surprised by the low turn out as well as many unfamiliar faces and names. Among the shareholders, I only recognized "FIREBOB" and "RICK824" from AOL thread. Other shareholders from the SI thread included "SCOOBY-DO", "RON MARSGRAF" "MARC RICHTER" and "LONGTOM".
The meeting began with a welcome speech to shareholders and a "The vision of eConnect Inc." speech from Tom. Follow the speech is the introduction of the new management team by Harry Hargens (the new President who will handle the day to day operation of eConnect. Inc.). Here it is (in original version from eConnect Inc.):
A) BUILD A QUALITY TEAM Tom Hughes: Vision and Leadership. Tom has been pursuing his eCommerce vision since 1992. He has assembled a business plan and funding. He has driven the creation if the patents for the SLICK, Paymaster, and Pocket Pay. Tom will continue to lead the company as Chairman and CEO.
Harry Hargens: Business and Processing Expertise Harry has been a leader in the design and marketing of hardware, software, and services for transaction processing since 1981, working with many start-up companies over the years. He has held management position at Omron, Verifone, Transnet, HONOR, and National Data. Harry has been involved as a part-time consultant since 1996, and will become President & COO this summer.
Jim Wexler: Wall Street and eGaming Jim spent many successful years with major brokerages, before leaving to launch his own company, eSportbet. Since merging eSportbet into eConnect, Jim has been a tremendous help to Tom in attracting quality attention on Wall Street, Jim will become President of the eGaming subsidiary this summer, and direct it's growth. ( My words: Jim Wexler was not able to attend the meeting due to a family emergency event, I found it very unfortunate since I cannot ask more questions in detail about eGaming division.)
Gerry Gay: Sell, sell, sell... Gerry has been in sales and sales management for over 20 years, and involved in the creditcard industry since 1982, working for Omron, Telecheck, First Data, and others. He has sold hardware, software, and processing services, to banks, ISOs, VARs, and Major Retail Chains. Effective June 01, Gerry became Vice-president, Sales and Marketing. He will be leading our efforts to sign up new clients.
Bob Hodgson: You want it when..?!?! Bob has managed development and operations for transaction processing hardware and software companies for over 10 years, working for industry leaders such as Diedbold, Omron, and National Data. He became Vice President, Development & Operations, June 1. It will be his job to create and deliver all of our products and services.
B) MAKE A GOOD PLAN (Grow Revenue and Profits from Existing Businesses): * eGaming: The current existing businesses are eGaming (777Wins and eSport), and Shop While U Wait (being rename to EZshop). Jim Wexler will take the lead in growing our eGaming businesses, through both growth and acquisition.
*EZShop: Gerry Gay will spend a significant part of his time seeking new catalog vendors to participate in EZshop, seeking agreements from large retail chains to be EZShop locations, and establishing relationships with independent marketers to sign individual EZShop locations. Harry Hargens will be acting President of the EZShop business.
C) The third speech by Harry Hargens talk about the future products of eConnect such as: SLICK for Internet services, Rogel Technologies, EZCARD, P.E.R.F.E.C.T Kiosks (EZShop, EZPay, EZBet, Pay Per Pay Lotto).
D) The fourth speech also by Harry Hargens talk about: -Making a good plan (turn concepts into reality, as new business units) -What it takes to suceed: Focus, Focus, Focus! -Where is eConnect Inc. is headed? -Flowcharts and techtical aspects of Ezshop , Slick.
Last and final is the "Questions & Answers" from shareholders to Tom Hughes and Harry Hargens. A light lunch was provided during the "questions & answers" and the shareholders meeting concluded at 12:00pm. The limos' waited outside and took everyone back to their hotels.
There it is folks! That was the whole meeting. My thought about the meeting and the issues discussed will follow, but I have to catch some ZZZZ first. It was hard to go to bed early last night at Vegas, if you know what I mean!:)
