I hate wasps. Of course, I'm not real crazy about any insects - don't understand their purpose. I never have bought the argument that they provide dinner for some other household pest. At any rate, I really hate wasps. It probably goes back to my childhood when one flew down the back of my shirt and stung me numerous times.

This morning, as I was working in the yard, a wasp flew up my shorts. Fortunately I wear briefs rather than boxers, but it was close enough that I really would have preferred that he not be in there at all. I quickly determined that I had three choices. I could strip and hope that any neighbors looking on would understand what I was doing - I could start whacking at it and again hope that any neighbors would understand what I was doing - or I could jump into the pool which I knew was just north of 65 degrees or about 15 degrees colder than the temperature I normally start to even consider swimming.

I chose the pool. The bad news is I froze the little prick. The good news - I also drowned the wasp.
