That is exactly my point. Anyone can say they have "open" access to AOL for only $9.95 additional fee.

I just for the life of me cant figure why ATHM & AOL cant just split the difference and let everyone be happy. Let the customers pay $5 for AOL, ATHM pays $2.50 to AOL and AOL gets $2.50 less.
The customer gets AOL content with AOL software and can use a normal browser too.
Whats the big deal? Everyone wins.

Heck. ATHM should consider a unilateral action. Lower the price of ATHM service by $2.50 for anyone who uses the cable to connect to any other ISP. Include AOL even though AOL isnt an ISP really.
*IF* having more ISP's available would actually increase the customer base it would be a brilliant move.
