Scrapps, given the fact that COMS chose a Cable Industry venue for this press conference, it is only logical that the topic is Cable related. Cable modems, alliance with cable companies, contracts in this arena are now highly probable subjects. It is hard to speculate more specifics because every major cable company should be at the conference.

Here in San Diego, Southwest cable has been offering internet access via cable modems for a couple of months now. The installation charge is something like $120 and unlimited monthly at $45. Unfortunately, I do not live in an area covered by Southwest. Friends who have hooked up to the service said it is lightning fast, reportedly at about 5 times the speed of ISDN. At $45 a month, it is only $10 more than POTS ($19.95 for the average ISP and no need for a second phone line at an average of $15 per month) and much much cheaper than the average ISDN service for San Diego, since they still have per hour charges.

If COMS is indeed announcing progress in this arena, next week should be very exciting for COMS/USRX shareholders.
