I used to teach sociology students and journalism students how to use a PC (personal computer, not Politically Correct as on the list) to do their writing at the local university -- even made an instructional video on how to use PC-Write which they had a site license for.

I came to the conclusion that you already know 95% of what you need to know to operate a computer. You just don't know that you know it. Most of the skills are transferable from other experiences. The 5% you don't know is the non-user friendly stuff.

You are very lucky to be learning in the days of windows. Back when I learned, every program worked differently from all other programs. Now, whether you are using MSIE or WordPerfect, the menus at the top of the screen are very similar and they all work the same way.

Plus you are smart. That makes it even easier. You think it is hard because it is hard work and new and you are prolly still a bit scared. ('prolly' is an IRC shortcut word for 'probably').

You are doing fine. Just stick with it!
