I can't hardly blame you for not wanting to rewrite a dissertation.

I may be thinking of the wrong myth. I thought that Dionysus was the one that went down into Hades or whatever their hell was and rescued a damsel. He was gone for three days, but returned to reanimate his body after having made his sacrifice for our collective good or something like that. That was the reason for my reference to love and sacrifice, and the comparison to Jesus.

I guess it's time to put the web to use and go find the specifics.
