The Seattle Times ran a story on "Digital VCR's" today. The reporter tested Replay and a TiVo units. He described his experience as positive but admitted their price is high for the general consumer. The reporter said other units are in the making. Microsoft's Web TV and Echostar's DISH Network (a satellite TV provider) are jointly introducing a new product later this month that will freeze a TV show for up to 30 minutes and do other features. NDS will be customer testing a huge DD unit late this year with consumer introduction next year. He expects many cable companies to introduce DD's in their set top boxes to give themselves a competitive edge. The article took a full newspaper page including pictures. Mark M.
