Mary Meeker has said that all stocks in internets will fall another 20% before becoming attractive.

Concerning Aol and AT@T deal I became aware of it only this Friday. I now understand why Gnet sold off so sharply and never rebounded.

Go2Net before had the allure of being alone and one of the first to be on cable TV internet. This is now changed. Aol will force cable companies to open up and offer their services.

Aol is much better known, better equipped, serviced, with large audience and value. It is respected by institutions.

Expect all cable companies eventually to carry Aol and primary choice. So where does that leave Go2Net. Probably some division of Aol.

This explains also why mangement is eager to sell shares at $90 and why they never fought for higher price when stock was at $199.

As Gnet stumbles and sales slow, expect stock to fall.

To those who bought early it was a wise investment. Now you will have to ask many many questions. The landscape has changed. The competition has changed. Your views must therefore change.

Just my views.
