William -- what is the best source of information on the growth rate of the internet -- preferably one that I can access.

William,

>> No. The argument is that it will never ever be cheaper to attract users that it is at present. It will only get more expensive.

Finally, somebody states the bullish case coherently, even if it takes more than one sentence. I have absolutely no problem accepting this argument. I was just disagreeing with the idea that a retail business can totally dispense with marketing and advertising as though that was a luxury, like office decor.

But back to your point. Now we just have to see how much real investors will value the customer counts and loyalty. Which will drive the short and medium term stock price. My belief there, is that TA doesn't help us. I have no idea at which point buy-and-hold funds will initiate or add positions. It may have started already. I keep being puzzled by HJ's strong commitment to the amzn is going down in flames position. But also, I couldn't say whether a reasonable market cap for Amazon is 5B, 10B, or 20B to account for their potential, and also for their risks. Including the risk of a stumble.

Endorsements of Amazon's strategy don't come any higher than that.

William,

They do come higher. An endorsement from me would be far superior<G>
