Omaha, Nebraska. I don't think that matters do you? They are horrible but I don't think that is why.

Schwab doesn't give you a professional Bridge terminal second only to Bloomberg (ThePulse) for free (or for a fee, for that matter), of course none of the other online brokers do, either.

While true, that does not necessarily means that such action would lead to a profitable strategy....

I would not discount Schwab that easily... they are ready to become a "global broker soon", the technology you are referring would not necessarily mean it would be for the use of large audiences...

I am not discounting the quality of the technology offered by E-trade, but the question to answer in terms of future value for the stock: How can this technology increase my market share and profitability...

Again, do not misunderstand my statements, their technology may be the best... but is such strategy going to make them grow in terms of market share and profitability ?

The fact that the dinosaurs are becoming competitors, may not be a big deal in the long run, because of their mind-set... but it will possibly result in a price war....

Do not discount Schwab...

where is Ameritrade based? Alabama, Kentucky? come on!! they should be milking cows there, not trading online.

Watch out Leonardo.... I think Carlos Menem went to school there....

<g> Besides, Cousin Jeb Clampet is a billionaire and might be a member of SI (his handle could very well be "marketxxxx.com...<g>), or something like that...), it is likely he could be using one of those brokers, you know....

comparing the other online brokers to ETrade is like comparing a Mercedes Benz with a Daihatsu, man, come on, get real.

Yea well.... have you compared the maintenance bills of each one....?

Even the Volkswagen beetle will take you from point a to point b you know.... Once again, as a personal choice, E-Trade may offer lots of benefits.... as an investment there are other considerations...

btw, I would rather get a BMW or Porsche, before a "Meche"

so, i hereby predict, that before july is over, we'll see triple digits again with this stock. and if we don't see triple digits by july, I DON"T GIVE A FUCK, we'll see $ 453 3/4 by 2002 or earlier!

Wheu......

Not that I disagree.... but are you Ted Kaczynski's cousin...?

You ought to write a thesis pro-technology a and call it:

"The Fook The Hillbillies Manifesto" (the anti-Kaczynski thesis) <g>

p.s. Who do you think is going to win the coming elections ?

Will Menem join Presidente Carlos Salinas in Ireland ? (He is in a sort of "self imposed" exile.....otherwise, they may put him in jail, like his brother Raúl).
