Prophet: Gilder has at least one point to multipoint technology company on his list of ascendant technologies (the most underperforming company still on it). I can't recall discussion by him that would posit success in this technology as undermining that of Q!, but that doesn't mean it's not a possibility. However,

With the Bosch deal, Motorola and Cisco want to make high-speed, stationary wireless data delivery possible....,

it seems that this is distinct from wireless/mobile of CDMA.

I don't see how Local Multipoint Distribution Service (LMDS) is a threat to CDMA. According to Motorola's PR, MOT says, "LMDS can replace existing phone lines, cable and other infrastructures without construction and extra cabling work by using a small unobtrusive dish at the customer-end for reception." So as long as the "small unobtrusive dish" doesn't fit in your pocket or purse, we don't have to worry.... The wired infrastructure people may have to worry....

LMDS is meant to address "small to medium enterprises".
